Our Mission
Children are hungry for education all over the world. Despite the progress made in recent years in Cameroon, children still face difficulty obtaining an education. School labs and training centres are underequipped with obsolete technologies. The education still appears complex as rapid technological changes present opportunities and challenges, but the capacities of teachers, learning environment and quality of education is not adaptable to the current changes. Thus, education is not tailored to meet the current industry needs and requirements for self-employment. This leads to many youths being unemployed.
World Vision for Education and Development, Inc. (WVED) is an organization that seeks to improve learning outcomes and employment opportunities, especially for women, girls and disadvantaged people in vulnerable communities. Based in the United States, WVED creates a positive impact in communities by providing educational resources to schools in Cameroon and the United States. Access to educational resources in Cameroon is scarce, especially in rural communities. We uphold strong ethical values such as transparency, accountability, and participation concerning rights and are committed to reducing poverty by helping those in vulnerable situations obtain an education, providing them with skills so that they can become positive influences within their communities.
